The Night of Discoveries will take place on September 14, 2024. The program lasts from 19:00 to 00:00 on the grounds of the Hortus botanicus Leiden, in the Academy Building of Leiden University, the Old Observatory and the PJ Veth Building. On Saturday 14 September 2024, the ticket offices will be open from 18:00. Tickets can be purchased on site at the entrance of the Hortus at the Rapenburg. However, we advise you to buy tickets online via our ticket shop .

Er is geen speciale kinderprogrammering, maar er zijn voldoende activiteiten en kunstwerken die ook voor kinderen (12+) erg leuk zijn.

Leiden is easily accessible by public transport. From Central Station, it is only a fifteen-minute walk to the festival heart at Rapenburg. Still coming by car? You can park in the Lammermarkt parking garage or in the Garenmarkt parking garage , both within walking distance of the site. Or park your car at the Haagweg parking lot. From there, free shuttle buses will pick you up whenever you want. If you come by bike, you can park your bike at all festival locations.

You can get refreshments at several places on the festival grounds. For example, at the Orangerie in the Hortus botanicus, but also at several food trucks on the grounds. Here you can only pay by PIN.

The Night of Discoveries works with reusable meal packaging. Visitors pay 1 euro extra (deposit) for their reusable meal packaging. When returning the meal packaging, visitors get this euro back in the form of a coin. This coin has a value of 1 euro that can be used as a discount for a drink (both food and drinks). The coins cannot be exchanged for money.

De Nacht van Ontdekkingen gebruikt ECOGLAS. Je ontvangt bij de kassa één muntje. Zodra je bij de bar een drankje bestelt, ontvang je met dat muntje een ecoglas. Bewaar je glas goed, want als je je glas kwijtraakt, en je bestelt een drankje zonder muntje of glas, dan betaal je € 1,- voor je ecoglas. Ecoglazen zijn aan het einde van de avond NIET in te leveren voor geld.

De Nacht is aan alweer aan de achtste editie toe. De organisatie van de Nacht is in handen van Alexander Mouret, Marlijn Kok, Bjorn de Jong, Bas Schreuder, Bastiaan Bakker en Mylène Alves da Silva. De Nacht is wordt mogelijk gemaakt door de samenwerking tussen Leiden&Partners, Cultuurfonds Leiden en de Universiteit Leiden gesteund door meerdere partners. In 2018 veranderde de naam van de Nacht van Kunst en Kennis in de Nacht van Ontdekkingen.
