ARTXSCIENCE - reNEW LUMC

Stem cells. What are they? What do they look like? And what can you do with them? Using artworks from the reNEW ARTxSCIENCE competition, you will learn all about stem cells!

reNEW is an international collaboration in which researchers from Leiden University Medical Center, Copenhagen and Melbourne strive to change the lives of patients with chronic diseases. Through their stem cell research they work on new treatments for diseases such as type 1 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and congenital muscle or immune diseases.

During their research, scientists produce beautiful works of art that tell the story of their stem cell research. The most beautiful works of art are entered into the reNEW ARTxSCIENCE competition.

In this interactive session, we will take you, using these works of art, into the world of stem cell research. Be amazed by this world: because stem cells not only offer a unique opportunity to heal people, but are also very beautiful.

At the end of the session you can vote for your favorite artwork. By doing so, you not only help our researchers win the ARTxSCIENCE competition, but you also have a chance to win several prizes!
