Public lecture about the musical capabilities of different animal species and what we can learn from this about our own musicality. It has long been thought that only humans were musical animals, but we are discovering more and more about the musical properties of other species. There are birds that can sing and dance, and monkeys that had a greater sense of rhythm than we thought. This not only teaches us something about what other animals can do, but can also tell us a lot about the origins of our own musicality.
